[TRANS] 130220 ‘Moonlight Prince’ Max Changmin Confesses, “I Lent An Acquaintance Money And Was Betrayed”

TVXQ’s Max Changmin confessed that he was once betrayed.

Max Changmin appeared on the episode of KBS 2TV’s ‘Moonlight Prince’ that aired on the 19th and revealed, “An acquaintance asked me if they could borrow some money from me, and they ended up betraying me.”

On this day, Lee Jae Ryong said, “The motto of my life is, ‘Don’t be the first to betray. Don’t be the first to make a mistake.’ I might have betrayed someone by accident, but I’ve never purposely done that to someone.”

Hearing this, Max Changmin said, “That happened to me once. An acquaintance once asked me if they could borrow over 10 million Won from me. It never crossed my mind that they wouldn’t pay me back, but I never got the money back from them.”

To this, Lee Jae Ryong said, “I’ve had so~ many experiences like that,” and “So I gave all my monetary assets over to my wife (Yoo Ho Jung). I can’t lie and say that I don’t have money when I actually do. But for some odd reason, people always pay us back if they borrow from my wife. They don’t pay us back if they borrow money from me.”

[TRANS] 130213 The Japanese Media Reports, “TVXQ Have The Highest Worldwide Sales Amongst K-Pop Groups”

The K-pop group with the highest worldwide sales is TVXQ.

On the 10th of February, local Japanese press released an article with the title, ‘The rankings of K-pop artistes with the highest worldwide sales are revealed’.

According to the article, a post about ‘Korean artistes’ sales rankings’ was posted on an online foreign community thread and is spreading rapidly.

The group that came out on top of the rankings is TVXQ. TVXQ’s total sales count is more than twice the amount of Girls’ Generation, who came in at second place, and boasted the group’s superiority. Second place was taken by Korea’s most representative girl group Girls’ Generation, and they were followed by KARA in third place. Big Bang, Super Junior, SHINee, 2PM, CN BLUE, JYJ and B2st made up the rest of the top 10.

The rankings include the official information from over 10 different websites of sales of albums, singles, DVDs, Blu-rays, photobooks, live concert albums, videos and CDs. The validity of the rankings can’t be ignored as the Korean sales counts are taken from the Gaon Charts and the Hanteo Charts, and the Japanese sales counts are taken from the Oricon charts.

Japanese netizens who heard the news left a variety of comments such as, “As expected from TVXQ”, “I wonder who earned more money, Psy with Gangnam Style or TVXQ”, “TVXQ’s popularity is amazing,” and “I’m surprised by the surge in popularity for Girls’ Generation and KARA.”

Meanwhile, TVXQ are currently juggling both individual and group activities. Jung Yunho is appearing in the SBS Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Queen of Ambition’ while Shim Changmin is showing off his humorous wit in KBS 2TV’s ‘Moonlight Prince’. Not only this, but they are also planning to release their new Japanese album ‘TIME’ on the 6th of March.

[TRANS] 130214 Super Junior & TVXQ Awarded Best Albums Of The Quarter At The “Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards”

Super Junior and TVXQ were awarded “Singer of The Year” awards under the album category for the 3rd and 4th quarter (of last year) respectively during the “2nd Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards”, which were held at the Olympic Hall at the Olympic Park in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, on the evening of 13 Feb.

TVXQ’s “Catch Me” ranked first in the fourth quarter with sales of over 120,000 copies. Changmin was unable to attend the ceremony on this day due to filming for “Moonlight Prince”, and hence only Yunho was in attendance. Yunho said, “Changmin wanted to come, but could not due to his filming so I came alone.” He also expressed his gratitude to officials and staff from the management agency, and said “This award belongs to Cassiopeia.”

Yunho also went onto say, “I think that for a singer, singing and expressing yourself on stage is the answer. Even 10, 20 years from now, we will be singers that are answerable (to everyone) on stage.

The “Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards” are based on accurate and objective data obtained from Gaon Chart results (digital music downloads, record sales). The “Singer of the Year” awards this time are awarded to artistes whose record sales ranked number one in each of the respective four quarters from January to December 2012.

[TRANS] 130206 Max Changmin Says, “A Public Relationship? It Would Be Too Much Of A Burden On Her…”

[T/N: The tone of the article (and the show) was Changmin talking about his past girlfriends, it is uncertain as to whether he has one now or not (but that’s his personal life and not my business).]

TVXQ’s Max Changmin recently confessed why he doesn’t publicly reveal his relationships.

During the episode of KBS2′s ‘Moonlight Prince’ that aired on the 5th, Max Changmin talked about his love life when he said, “I’m the kind of person who treats his girlfriend like a good friend and doesn’t stress her out.”

MC Kang Ho Dong asked, “But why do you always date secretly?” and Max Changmin replied, “I worry that if I publicly reveal that I’m dating someone, the fact that she’s dating me could be too much of a burden on her.” When asked, “Then when would you consider going public with your relationship?” Max Changmin had everyone laughing with his unexpected answer, “It would have to be something that puts me in a tight spot.. Marriage.”

Though he wouldn’t be able to meet with his girlfriend in public because he’s a famous celebrity, Max Changmin revealed that he’s a romantic who likes to plan little events to surprise his girlfriend.

Max Changmin showed his caring side when he said, “I don’t do anything grand. When she’s sick, I’ll make soup and give it to her before she goes to work. I’ll tell her, ‘It’s soup, but eat it slowly so your stomach doesn’t hurt.’” When asked how his girlfriend had reacted, he replied, “She felt like she was dying of happiness,” and had everyone laughing.
