[NEWS] 111120 “Will Show A Special Stage In Las Vegas” – TVXQ

Male group TVXQ is expected to show a special performance in Las Vegas, America.

Prior to the “2011 Billboard K-POP MASTERS” which will be held on 25-26 November at the MGM Grand Arena, TVXQ greeted everyone via Billboard Korea from Japan, and spoke about their recent activities.

On the upcoming stage, TVXQ expressed that “With the K-pop fever burning strong throughout the world, we’re really happy to be able to perform on such a meaningful stage.”

Following that, they said with confidence that they “want to show the fans of K-pop a charming image of themselves. A TVXQ stage that is exclusive to Las Vegas is being prepared, so please look out for it”

Finally, they made a special mention that “We are looking forward to Las Vegas as well.”

The “2011 Billboard K-POP MASTERS” which TVXQ is appearing in will also feature popular artists such as SHINee, Brown Eyed Girls, Sistar, Beast, 4minute, G.NA, and MBLAQ.

TVXQ’s Japanese album “TONE” which sold over 250,000 copies in Japan has also done well in Korea. On 12 November, they met with their Australian fans at the “2011 K-POP MUSIC FESTIVAL” held at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia. Recently, hey have also shown their support towards the recovery activities for the Thailand floods,  showing their love for their fans.

[NEWS] 111118 Choikang Changmin Meets With 4,000 Japanese Fans Without U-Know Yunho

TVXQ’s Choikang Changmin attended a solo event in Japan.

On the 17th of November, an event was held in Yokohama to commemorate the DVD release of Choikang Changmin’s drama ‘Paradise Ranch’. Though the event was open only to those who had bought the DVD set, which costs around 33,600 Yen (approximately 490,000 Won), 4,000 fans gathered and proved the star’s immense popularity in Japan.

Reminiscing of the time he spent filming the drama, Choikang Changmin said, “In the scene in which I had to act alongside a horse, I had troubles because the horse wasn’t listening to the commands.” Choikang Changmin even performed ‘Confession’, a song for which he wrote the lyrics, and stated, “I don’t sing by myself most of the time so I was very nervous about this.” Regarding the fact that he provided his own dubbing services for his character in the DVD, he smiled shyly and said, “I was really embarrassed about doing it.”

Lee Yeon Hee, who acted alongside Choikang Changmin in the drama, joined him on this day to commemorate the DVD release. She stated, “I had fun at the event because it reminded me of the days we spent filming for the drama.” A special video message from U-Know Yunho was played in which he said, “I think Changmin did really well. I saw a new masculine side of him that I hadn’t seen before.”

[NEWS] 111113 K-POP Music Fest In Sydney Wows 20,000 Fans… Australia Is On Fire

’2011 K-POP Music Fest In Sydney’, the first large-scale Hallyu concert in the southern hemisphere, has successfully come to an end.

MBC held the concert at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney for 20,000 fans to commemorate its 50th anniversary, as well as ‘Korea-Australia Friendship Year’, as 2011 marks the 50th anniversary since Korea and Australia established diplomatic relations.

With Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany and Yuri as MCs, a total of 12 teams, including TVXQ, Girls’ Generation, KARA, SHINee, 2AM, CN BLUE, B2ST, 4 Minute, SISTAR, Secret, MBLAQ and miss A, came together to kick off the K-POP boom in the southern hemisphere. The groups performed their hit songs and took part in special performances during the three-hour concert and captivated their Australian fans.

4 Minute and miss A prepared a rendition of Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t get you out of my head’ while CN BLUE, B2ST’s Yo Seob and MBLAQ’s G.O. formed their own band.

2AM’s Jo Kwon and Changmin, 4 Minute’s Ga Yoon and SISTAR’s Hyorin showcased their vocal talent while Girls’ Generation and SHINee, forerunners of the K-POP boom, prepared a special dance performance.

Australian fans gathered in front of the ANZ Stadium from as early as six hours before the show and sang and danced to Korean songs, showing the strength of K-POP in Sydney.

Suzanne(17), a fan of Girls’ Generation, stated, “I’ve liked Girls’ Generation for two years now and it feels like a dream to be able to watch them perform in Sydney,” and “I will never forget today.”

[NEWS] 111119 Japan Record Awards – Excellence Awards For KARA, AKB48 etc

“The 53rd Shine! Japan Record Awards” winners have been announced.

The following 10 songs : 「Esperanza」(Nishino Kana), 「GO GO Summer!」(KARA),「CALL」(AAA), 「Kono Yoru wo Tometeyo 」(JUJU), 「Shounai Heiya Kaze No Naka」(Mizumori Kaori),「Jounetsu No Mariachi」(Hikawa Kiyoshi), 「Sore Demo Shinjiteru」(FUNKY MONKEY BABYS), 「Flying Get」(AKB48), 「Why?(Keep Your Head Down)」(Tohoshinki) and 「Warattetainda」(Ikimonogakari) have been selected for the Excellence awards.

Also, Sakamoto Fuyumi took the Best Singer award, and 「Maru Maru Mori Mori」 (Kaoru To Tomoki, Tamani Mook) was chosen for the special award.

The top record award will be selected from the 10 excellence award winners, and will be decided on 30 December.

[NEWS] 111110 2NE1 vs Girls’ Generation, Super Junior vs TVXQ’s Fight For First Place

Asia is turning its eyes and ears to the ’2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)’, which will be held at the Indoor Stadium in Singapore on the 29th.

Over 2.24 million votes had been cast on the MAMA homepage from the 1st till the 9th of November. This is ten times greater than the number of votes cast last year in the same time period.

The votes have been coming in from Korea(19%), Thailand(11.2%), China(10.8%), Japan(8.6%) and Singapore(2.4%). It’s been found that over 80% of the votes have been coming in from overseas fans, which is 13% higher than last year.

Super Junior’s ‘Mr. Simple’(35.1%) and TVXQ’s ‘Why (Keep Your Head Down)’(34.9%) have been locked in a cut-throat competition for the Best Dance Performance by a Male Group Award. For the female group category, 2NE1(31.3%) and Girls’ Generation(26.8%) are battling for the top spot.

’2011 MAMA’ is a musical festival that brings together, not only the Korean singers who have become the forerunners of the global K-pop boom this year, but also artistes from all over Asia. A red carpet event will be held from 5pm to 7pm and the awards ceremony will be held till 11pm.

The event will be aired lived in thirteen countries such as Singapore, Japan and Thailand while it will be aired at a later time in seven countries such as China, France, and the United States. It will be available to 1.9 billion people in 20 different countries.
